Gal Gadot Says Director Threatened Her For Reshoot Of Justice League
Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot has confirmed anonymous reports that director Joss Whedon threatened her career while reshooting DC’s Justice League, Entertainment Weekly reports.
Gadot said in a recent interview that Whedon “kind of threatened my career and said if I did something, he would make my career miserable and I just took care of it instead.”
Last month, a Hollywood Reporter story focused on the alleged mistreatment Justice League actor Ray Fisher said he experienced while working with Whedon. Ever since July of last year, 33-year-old Fisher tweeted accusing Whedon of “gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable” conduct on the set of Justice League.

A “knowledgeable source” said Gadot also clashed with the filmmaker; Whedon allegedly responded by threatening to damaging the 36-year-old actress’s career and also mocked Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins.
Whedon was brought on to finish Justice League after Zack Snyder departed the project due to a family tragedy. Gadot was concerned once Whedon took over, including “issues about her character being more aggressive than her character in Wonder Woman. She wanted to make the character flow from one movie to the next.”
Per The Hollywood Reporter, “A witness on the production who later spoke to investigators says that after one clash, ‘Joss was bragging that he’s had it out with Gal. He told her he’s the writer and she’s going to shut up and say the lines and he can make her look incredibly stupid in this movie.'”
Jason Momoa, who plays Aquaman in Justice League, has also supported Fisher for “speaking up about the sh–ty way we were treated on Justice League reshoots.” Fisher has been vocal about the alleged indignities he faced on set of Justice League under Whedon and Warner Bros. leadership at the time, Entertainment Weekly said. He also expressed his dissatisfaction with the company’s official investigation into the matter. The WarnerMedia investigation concluded in December, finding “no credible support for claims of racial animus or racial or disability insensitivity.” Whedon had no comment at the time but he did deny the accusations that Fisher’s skin tone was digitally altered in the film.
