Lil Nas X Rips Off Marvel For Album Announcement
Lil Nas X sure has an interesting approach in promoting his music — with actions that lead to possible lawsuits by major corporations.
Today (June 29), the 22-year-old rapper’s album announcement seems to borrow quite liberally from Marvel, using their font and opening credits style. He captioned the Instagram post, “MONTERO THE DEBUT ALBUM COMING SOON! 🦹🏾♂️⭐️”
Featuring collaged images of Lil Nas X’s iconic characters and lyrics from songs, “MONTERO THE ALBUM. COMING SOON” appears at the end, with a sound snippet of what seems to be a new song of the album.

One user wrote, “You’re about to make history brother.” He may very well be sued again, as Nike did when he was promoting “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” with the unauthorized sale of the Satan Shoes.
Another user commented, “MONTERO CINEMATIC UNIVERSE” under the post.
“Not all hero’s wear capes,” chimed another Stan of the Marvel motif.
