Eminem Finishes In 2nd Place For Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Fan Vote
The fan vote for the 2022 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame officially ended on Friday (April 29) and Eminem came in second place with approximately 684,000 votes. The fan vote counts as one ballot; there are over a thousand voters who determine who will be inducted.
“The top five artists, as selected by the public, will comprise a ‘fans’ ballot’ that will be tallied along with the other ballots to choose the 2022 inductees,” the Rock Hall explained on their website.
The top three contenders were Duran Duran in first place with 934,000 votes and Pat Benatar in third place with 634,000 votes.
Other iconic artists to receive votes included Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie, A Tribe Called Quest, Judas Priest, Kate Bush, Rage Against The Machine, Fela Kuti, and more.
Last year, Jay-Z, LL Cool J, the Foo Fighters and Tina Turner, among others, were inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame.
The official Class of 2022 will be announced in May and an induction ceremony will be held this fall.
