Chance The Rapper Teases ‘Acid Rap’ 10th Anniversary Concert

Chance The Rapper dropped ‘Acid Rap’ 10 years ago. His breakout mixtape put him on the map. Now, there is a possibility that fans will be able to hear him perform it live.

On Instagram Wednesday (Feb. 1), the Chicago native put together some of his favorite moments from the Acid Rap era in a video. He captioned the clip, “Who wants a show?”

Acid Rap is the rapper’s sophomore mixtape and was released in 2013. The EP had guest appearances from Twista, Vic Mensa, Childish Gambino, Noname, BJ The Chicago Kid, Ab-Soul, and more.

The mixtape ended up charting No. 63 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums three months after its release due to illegal internet downloads.

Chance followed up with his third mixtape the Coloring Book in 2016. It featured guest appearances from Kanye West, Justin Bieber, Young Thug, and more. The mixtape debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200. It won the Best Rap Album at the Grammys in 2017. It was the first streaming-only album to win a Grammy.

The Chicago native would then drop his debut album The Big Day in 2019. In a September interview with Complex, the “Juke Box” rapper revealed that he has a new project lined up called Star Line Gallery.

“The ‘Gallery’ is the Star Line, and the Star Line is all of us,” Chance said of the title. “It’s going to be all Black artists from everywhere around the world with all different experiences, but a connection, and in conversation with me and my collaborators to create new pieces that show what it means to be Black right now.”

He added, “It’s not all drenched in the conversation of trauma or about the most familiar aesthetic of Black that we know right now. It’s about what is real.”

Chance has not yet revealed a release date for Star Line Gallery.

  'Yeezus' is Kanye West's sixth studio album and was released on June 18, 2013. 'Yeezus' debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200, becoming West's sixth chart-topping studio album. West enlists guest vocals from Justin Vernon, Chief Keef, Kid Cudi, Assassin, King L, Charlie Wilson, and Frank Ocean. However, on the official track listing the only featured guest is "God." Songs "New Slaves" and "Blood on the Leaves" are two of his best on the album and are tracks four and seven respectively. "New Slaves" was nominated for "Best Rap Song" and 'Yeezus' was nominated for "Best Rap Album" at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards.

The 12-track EP featured guest appearances from Action Bronson, Ab-Soul, Donald Glover, Noname, among others. The lead single for 'The Marshall Mathers LP 2' was "Berzerk" followed by "Survival" and "Rap God." "The Monster," featuring Rihanna. "Headlights," featuring Ruess, was released the following year. Eminem took home "Best Rap Album" and "Best Rap/Sung Collaboration" for the Rihanna-assisted "The Monster" at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards. "Rap God" also got a nomination for "Best Rap Performance." "Bezerk" was nominated previously at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards for "Best Rap Performance."
