Kendrick Lamar, Baby Keem Team Up For ‘The Hillbillies’: LISTEN
Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem have dropped their latest joint track titled “The Hillbillies.” The cousins have too much fun running around shopping malls, private jets, festival grounds, etc. throughout the accompanying visual.
“We gon’ f— up the world, excuse me, but is that your girl?/ Didn’t mean to possess your girl/ Baby, I’m high profile, don’t ever tell ’em you met me, girl/ They gon’ think that you rep me, girl/ 5′ 7″, I’m Messi, girl/ I’ma pass you to Neymar, he got time for your bestie, girl,” Kendrick raps on the EVILGIANE-produced track.
Tyler, The Creator also makes a cameo in the cousins’ day of fun around the 2:30 mark. Tyler is seen rocking “Camp Flog Gnaw 2023″chain confirming the return of his L.A. festival that has had a four-year hiatus.
The cousin duo previously worked together on “N95,” “Die Hard,” “Range Brothers,” “Savior,” “Nile,” and the Grammy award-winning “Family Ties,” among others.
“The Hillbillies” is the first collab offering from Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem since the tracks on the former’s Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers which was released last year. Kendrick has been on tour since last June and will be making several appearances at festivals around the globe this summer. On his Big Steppers tour, Baby Keem was one of the supporting acts alongside rapper Tanna Leone.
Baby Keem released his debut album Melodic Blue in 2021. The album debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200. K. Dot appears on his cousin’s debut LP on the tracks “Range Brothers” and “Family Ties.” They won a Grammy for Best Rap Performance on “Family Ties” the following year.
This is Baby Keem’s first single of 2023. This is Kendrick’s second offering of the year, as he was featured on Beyoncé’s “America Has A Problem” remix that dropped last Friday (May 26).
