It’s Your First of The Month Reminder
First of all, it is the first day of the month. So, as I say every month, as a breast cancer survivor myself I know how important it is to spread awareness, because early detection is key. It saved my life. It could save your life too. So, ladies (and gentleman too) please schedule your mammograms’ and do your self exams.
WWE Donates $20,000 to Detroit Youth Groups
Well, one of wrestling’s biggest events is coming to Detroit on Saturday. WWE Summerslam will be taking place at Ford Field. First off, I have to shout WWE out because they donated $20,000 to SAY Detroit Play Center. It’s an organization that offers things like tutoring, they provide free meals, summer camps and stuff for kids in the city. The Downtown Boxing Gym and Detroit Public Schools Community District are also receiving donations from WWE as part of an effort to support youth programs. It’s awesome that they did that. They’re also doing a merch shop in advance of the show from Thursday to Sunday at the 1001 building downtown near Campus Martius. You can buy merch and collectibles, plus there’s going to be meet and greets with some of your favorite wrestlers. That’s free and open to the public, but there is limited capacity for those, so get there early. Some of the wrestlers that will be out there include Bronson Reed, Omos and Tommaso Ciampa. The kids are still out of school so take them down there and give them that experience!
Pee-Wee Herman Actor Paul Reubens Has Passed Away
Such terrible news for so many people including me yesterday. It was like a punch to the gut for my childhood. Paul Reubens, Pee-Wee Herman, has passed away. Pee-Wee’s Playhouse ran from 1986 to 1991. I loved that show so much. It was twice ranked in the top 15 of TV’s top cult shows ever. I had followed him on Facebook over the years and there was a post that he had made probably in advance of him passing. It read, “Please accept my apology for not going public with what I’ve been facing for the last six years. I have always felt a huge amount of love and respect from my friends, fans and supporters. I have loved you all so much and enjoyed making art for you.” One of his reps went on to say that he privately fought cancer for years with his trademark tenacity and wit. Cancer sucks. And my prayers and my thoughts go out to him and his family. Check out this link for a great video tribute to Paul Reubens… https://youtu.be/yt6En2X-FB8
Euphoria Actor, Angus Cloud, Dead at 25
I did also want to mention that Angus Cloud from the TV show Euphoira, also passed away. He had buried his father the week before and I guess he was taking that very, very, hard because they were best friends. So, unfortunately for his family, they’ve suffered some great losses. My thoughts go out to them as well.
Police Report Filed For Cardi B’s Mic Throwing Incident
We told you Cardi B bopped that woman who threw whatever-it-was on her in Vegas over the weekend. Well, now a woman has filed a police report for battery and Cardi B has been listed as a suspect. Cardi has given a response to the incident, sort of. She said, “I can’t really talk about it. But let me tell you something. I got assaulted. When water and ice get thrown in your face and hit you man, hard, come talk to me and tell me what you would do in my shoes.” Here’s where she may get in trouble, though, because apparently the girl who filed the police report isn’t the one who threw the drink on Cardi. She was just standing next to that woman and was hit with the microphone. So, we’ll have to see how this plays out because I just don’t know.
