Frank Ocean Teases New Music
New Frank Ocean msic might be on the way, finally. Ocean went to his Instagram Story on Wednesday (Nov. 8) to share a snippet of an unreleased song. The Channel Orange singer did not go into further details about the song.
The last time Ocean released a song was in 2019. The Long Beach, CA native dropped “DHL” and “In My Room” that year. At the time, it seemed as though Ocean was ready to drop a full-length project. However, nothing ever came to fruition. The singer’s last album was Blonde in 2016.
The last time fans saw Ocean was when he was a headliner for Coachella back in April. He was set to perform at the festival for both weekends. Unfortunately, due to an injury, he was only able to make the first weekend.
“Frank Ocean will not be performing at weekend 2 of Coachella. After suffering an injury to his leg on festival grounds in the week leading up to weekend 1. Frank Ocean was unable to perform the intended show but was still intent on performing, and in 72 hours, the show was reworked out of necessity. On doctor’s advice, [Ocean] is not able to perform weekend 2 due to two fractures and a sprain in his left leg,” the statement read per Variety at the time.
Frank Ocean Hints At New Album
Although fans might have been disappointed by the Coachella news, Ocean spoke about the possibility of a new album during his set. He told the audience, “It’s been so long, but I have missed you. I wanna talk about why I’m here, ‘cos it’s not because of a new album — not that there’s not a new album — but there’s not right now.”
“These last couple of years, my life changed so much and my brother and I came to this festival a lot. I feel like I was dragged out here half the time. We were just dancing in that tent to that music and I know he would have been so excited to be here with all of us and I wanted to say thank you for all the support and the love.”
Hopefully, this sneak peek is the lead-up to a new project.
