‘Juneteenth’ To Become Paid Holiday For Georgia State Employees
The governor of Georgia, Brian Kemp, has signed legislation making Juneteenth a federal holiday in his state.
Georgia will now have 13 paid federal holidays.
Because Juneteenth falls on a Sunday this year, Georgia will observe the holiday on June 20th.
Juneteenth-celebrated on June 19th, commemorates the end of slavery in the United States.
I think this should be an observed holiday nationally!
