Ari Lennox Explains Delay In Dropping Her Sophomore Album
We’ve all been awaiting Ari Lennox’s sophomore album after her impressive debut, 2019’s Shea Butter Baby. The Dreamville artist gained traction once again when she dropped her first No. 1 song “Pressure” in 2021 and, of course, the fans are looking forward to hearing more. One fan is blaming Dreamville, Ari’s label which was founded by J. Cole, for her not releasing her sophomore album.
The fan wrote, “I’m blaming the label for not releasing the album at this point. I know it’s done. They’re tripping.”
Ari quickly dismissed the rumor: “Boyeeee it’s me,” she wrote. “I’m a baby perfectionist. She’s not ready yet. My sophomore baby is coming soon.”
Until Ari’s sophomore album arrives, the R&B songstress is nominated for four BET Awards at this year’s show set to air on Sunday (June 26). Ari and Drake are tied with with four nods each while Doja Cat leads the pack with six nods.
