Irv Gotti Responds To The Backlash Against His Ashanti Stories
Irv Gotti is in the hot seat once again. This time however he is explaining why he consistently chooses to retell stories of him and Ashanti’s rumored relationship, which took place two decades ago. The Shade Room caught up with the producer on the red carpet of the MTV VMAs when he was asked why he kept bringing up Ashanti. “Thatâs why,” he replied when the reporter asked. “You keep asking me. Did I bring Ashanti up? You did it. Hereâs what Iâm going to say: I wish Ashanti nothing but the best. Iâm not hooked on her, like, ‘I canât get over her.’ Itâs none of that s—. I got paid to do a documentary on my life and on Murder Inc. If I didnât talk about Ashanti, youâd be like, ‘What type of bulls— is this?’ Sheâs too important to Murder Inc. and his life.”
Irv then stepped into the comment section of the post and elaborated on his points, writing, “Please believe. Itâs gonna be NO COMMENT from here on in. But I felt like at least trying to make yâall understand. Moving forward. it will be limited interviews and no comments. I tell the truth cause I want the people to know the real. But honestly. Yâall donât give a f— about the truth. Yâall gonna say and do whatever yâall want. So why keep giving yâall the real? Itâs better to be like everyone else. Lie to yâall. Alter the truth. Or donât say s— to yâall and keep you in the dark. Hahahha. I got slandered for telling yâall the absolute truth. Lol.â
