Michiganders Convictions Expungement
Well, 400,000 people could be waking up this morning conviction free. The Michigan State Police is streamlining the state’s expungement process. By searching for and setting aside certain convictions that qualify underneath the current law. This could be important for people who maybe messed up as teens and are now adults who have that track record within the system. Some ways to qualify for automatic expungement including having up to four misdemeanors that are punishable by 93 days in jail or if it’s been more than seven years since they were sentenced for felonies. Up to two convictions will be expunged after 10 years since the sentence, or prison term, ended. Crimes that can’t be expunged are things like assault, murder, serious misdemeanors like human trafficking and others. So, if you want to check and see if you’re eligible, you’ll have to check the state’s website and pay a $10 fee. I’m sure that’s going to help a lot of people all over the state, so very cool.
Wendy Williams Reality Show
The Wendy Williams Show ended last year after 15 years on the air. And it ended kind of weird, right? She wasn’t even appearing on the show when it ended because she was dealing with a series of health problems. Well, now there are reports that Wendy has been filming at her childhood home in Ashbury Park, NJ and fans believe it’s for a new reality show. I think it might be a documentary. That sounds a little bit more on-brand for her. Wendy has been around for a really long time on radio and TV throughout the years so I think a documentary makes more sense than a reality show. Whatever the case, I hope that she takes this opportunity to dog her ex-husband. Because I’ll tell you, I worked with them and he was a nightmare. She wasn’t even the problem. HE was the problem. He was complaining about other guys standing too close to her for a meet and greet. It was just too much. And then he got in trouble a couple weeks after that at some women’s show in Georgia and then there was the whole NeNe Leakes thing. Oh, well. Glad that he’s out of the picture and I hope Wendy’s doing okay.
SZA Surpasses Mary J Blige
I cannot say enough about SZA. I wasn’t someone who listened to her regularly. Yeah, I knew who she was, but my daughter was a fan of hers first. But when I went to her concert? Forget about it. I was all in on SZA. For me, it’s how the artist connects with their audience and people there were singing at the top of their lungs and just having the best time. It was awesome. Well, SZA’s second studio, SOS, just went double platinum and she has now officially broken Mary J. Blige’s almost 20 year chart record. Her song “Kill Bill” has spent 16 consecutive weeks at number one, which now makes it the longest running number one single from a solo artist on the charts. It was an honor previously held by Mary J. for her single, “Be Without You”. I think she’s a great entertainer, so it’s very well deserved in my eyes.
