Police are out on the streets looking for distracted drivers. The fines they’re issuing to drivers on their phone are no joke.
Metro Detroit Police Looking For Drivers On Their Phones
If you’re still not following the distracted driving law, they’re out on these streets this week to try and bust ya. They’re looking for using your cell phone behind the wheel. You can’t even use it at a red light. You can use one-touch calling. Like, if someone was calling you at a red light, you could answer it. But you can’t look at social media, none of that stuff. The first offense is $100 fine or 16 hours of community service or both. Second offense is $250 for a fine or 24 hours of community service or both. Yesterday, police were were focused on M-59. Today is Big Beaver Road and Metro Parkway. Tomorrow they’re focusing on I-75 and Macomb and Oakland County. So, if you travel those routes, make sure that you’re obeying the law. There’s also reports they’re using unmarked police vehicles. Be warned because they’re looking for you.
And listen, it’s dangerous enough out there without you being distracted by your phone behind the wheel. Yesterday I was sitting in construction traffic, dead-stop traffic. Obviously, someone was not paying attention and there was a seven car pile-up behind me. I mean, the truck behind me was the last one to get hit. So, luckily he didn’t smash into me. And then there were people running all over the freeway trying to check on people. It was a very, very scary situation. So listen, the law is there for a reason. Pay attention. There’s nothing more important than that.

Celebrity Wax Statues Get Dogged
I don’t know if you saw this, but what is even going on with these wax figures they’ve been putting out lately? First of all, I saw Travis Barker’s yesterday from Blink 182 and I could not even tell them apart. It was crazy. I mean, it looks exactly like him. But wax statues of The Rock and Lil Wayne do not. I don’t think The Rock’s is too off when it comes to his features, but his skin tone definitely is not correct. And then Lil Wayne? I don’t know. The thing looks, like, three-foot-tall and 52 pounds wet. And the face is off. I think it’s because he doesn’t have sunglasses on like he normally wears.
