Inside the Detroit Lions’ Emotional Playoff Win & What’s to Come
This season has been a rollercoaster ride for the Detroit Lions. I’m so glad that we’ve stuck with this team through thick and thin. It makes this period in Lions history so much sweeter. When I started my podcast, “The Squad with Anne Erickson,” I even had some people ask me, “Why would you want to do a podcast about the Lions? They’re not good.” But, I didn’t care. I believed that this team, under a new head coach with a new quarterback, was something special, and I wanted to document that. Let’s go inside the Detroit Lions’ emotional playoff win and what’s to come.
Jeremy Reisman of Pride of Detroit joins me on the show this week, and I’m so happy to have him on, because he was actually at the playoff game on Sunday (Jan. 14). So, Reisman was inside the super loud Ford Field when the Detroit Lions were victorious over the Los Angeles Rams, 24-23. Reisman is a good friend and very knowledgeable guy about the Lions and NFL. We go inside the Detroit Lions victory and, perhaps more importantly, talk about what’s to come.
Do the Lions have the kind of team that can beat the Philadelphia Eagles or Tampa Bay Buccaneers? Not to get ahead of ourselves, but could the Lions beat the San Francisco 49ers to make it to the Super Bowl, assuming they’re the team to beat? We also talk about Dan Campbell, Jared Goff, Matthew Stafford, Bill Belichick, Pete Carroll and more. Both of us were totally shocked when Seattle parted ways with Carroll. Totally didn’t see that coming, and we’re both big fans of Carroll and his coaching. Lots of great stuff in here!
