Dearborn Residents Get Free Pool Access
As mentioned in today’s Shannon’s Scoop, the heatwave here in Detroit is not letting up. But, Dearborn residents are getting a free way to beat the heat.
Where Dearborn Residents Get Free Pool Access
If you’re a Dearborn resident, there’s some good news to help you beat the heat. The city of Dearborn is temporarily waiving entry fees to their city pools. This initiative is available at Fordwoods and Levagood Parks, allowing residents to enjoy the pools for free through Friday, June 21st.
The pools are open during regular hours: 1PM to 6 PM at Ford Woods Park and 1PM to 8 PM at Levagood Park on Denwood Street. To take advantage of this offer, proof of residency such as a driver’s license or state ID is required, and entry is on a first-come, first-served basis. Typically, children under 13 are allowed free entry, but this waiver now extends to adults as well. For more information, check the city’s website here.
Mayor Abdullah H. Hammoud stated, “Our public pools continue to be one of the best public amenities available to all Dearborn residents. We hope families are able to take advantage of this free pool period to cool off while using additional precautions during this particularly intense heat wave.”
