Metro Detroit Weekend Events
Well, if you’re looking for some things to do this weekend, I got you. The 52nd Annual Hash Bash happens in Ann Arbor, celebrating all things green. You know what I mean? There’s also going to be live music, shopping and more. The event draws crowds from all over the world. So it’s definitely something to check out this Saturday.
If greenery isn’t your thing but bourbon is, the Royal Oak Bourbon Fest happens this Saturday in downtown Royal Oak. Hundreds of bourbons for your tasting, food trucks, music, and more.
If you’re looking for something to do with the little ones, you can take kids 12 and under to get their pictures with the Easter Bunny at the Taylor Bunny Trail. It happens at Heritage Park in Taylor this Saturday.
And of course, I cannot forget to mention this Sunday is All Things Detroit Day. That happens at Eastern Market from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM. You can shop local vendors, there’s going to be food trucks, live music and more. And the weather is definitely going to be great that day. So, take advantage of that and check it out.
Jermaine Dupri Talks Janet Jackson
If you’ll remember, Jermaine Dupri and Janet Jackson dated for like seven years. It feels like forever ago, but he recently sat down for an interview and he spoke about how he was able to “pull” Janet. He said it wasn’t because of music. “I never wanted to produce. We got in an argument about me not producing her. You know what? I never wanted her to think that that’s what my agenda was cuz so many people were saying that. When Janet met me, she got picked up from the airport in a Continental T.” Jermaine was like, ‘yeah, I just approached her on some ‘let’s hang out’ stuff, not any music stuff’. I always wondered how they got together. You think that they ever get back together? Probably not.
Suge Knight TV Series
Well, it looks like we’ll be getting a TV series from none other than Suge Knight. Apparently they’re casting for a show similar to 50 Cent’s BMF series. It’s supposed to follow his life from when he was a kid growing up in Compton. I guess he wanted to be a football coach. Um, I don’t know that he’s going to discuss everything in his life, because a lot of it’s been illegal. I doubt he’s going to talk about that. But it’ll be interesting to see how he grew up and everything. And, of course, Suge is currently in prison for like 28 years for murder. But apparently he’s been very hands-on from behind bars selecting the directors and casting and especially about all the stuff when it comes to Tupac. He’s been very hands-on with that. No date has been set for the release, but apparently it starts filming this summer, so we’ll have to keep an eye out for that.
