Some Blogger Said that Michigan Is Boring. Wrong!
Michigan has a lot to offer, as we all know. So we were surprised to see that it landed in some blogger’s Top 10 Most Boring States list.
Michigan is an incredible state. The Great Lakes are perfect for swimming, boating, or just enjoying a day at the beach. And sand dunes and waterfalls that add to the scenic landscape. Michigan’s cities are buzzing with life and culture. Detroit is a city with a rich musical history, from Motown to Eminem to Bob Seger, a lot of icons have emerged from our city. You can visit the Motown Museum and learn about the iconic artists who shaped modern music. It has its share of vibrant college towns, an array of museums, and a growing foodie culture. You can explore food markets, try out farm-to-table restaurants, and even indulge in craft beer and wine tastings at the state’s breweries and wineries.
Despite the record of any of our sports teams, our loyalty as fans never wavers. Of course, you can’t forget the college sports rivalry between the University of Michigan Wolverines and Michigan State Spartans which makes for a good time.
Whether you’re into outdoor adventures, cultural experiences, sports, or good food, Michigan has something for everyone. It’s a state that surprises and delights, and you’ll never run out of things to do and see.
Michigan named one of the most boring states.
Recently, a travel and style blog, Have Clothes, Will Travel, put together a list of the 10 Most Boring States in America. Unfortunately, Michigan was one of the ten states that made the Top 10. It’s worth mentioning that the article used experiences from people on Reddit to compile their list of states. It’s also worth noting that this blog is run by just one woman. It’s her opinion and it’s easy to ignore. But we have to admit, we were curious what her issue was. Unfortuantely, she backed up her argument with Reddit comments.
One person mentioned in the article felt that Michigan might be the most boring state. They argued that Michigan lacks the vibrancy and variety found in other states. And that the state is mostly known for its factories and automobile industry. As we know, that’s kind of an outdated argument. “They feel that Michigan doesn’t offer much natural beauty or cultural attractions, and even the Great Lakes, while impressive, can get monotonous after a while,” mentioned in the article. We respectfully disagree, and wonder if they’ve actually been to the Great Lakes.
On the positive side, Ohio made the list as well in the number 6 spot. That’s a definite win for the Mitten. Nebraska secured the number one spot for the most boring state, according to this list. We might agree with them on that one, actually!
Like many lists, particularly ones created by a single person, we’ll take this with more than a grain of salt. We know Michigan is great. Take a look at the other states who made the list here.
