Plan For A Fun-Filled Weekend Downtown For Tree Lighting Ceremony
Big weekend next weekend. The Christmas tree lighting ceremony at Campus Martius is happening next Friday. The tree will actually be lit at 9:00 PM, but there’s stuff going on starting at 4:00 PM that day. They’re going to have performers, nationally known figure skaters and musicians. There’s also a bunch of free activities and entertainment all weekend long. The Downtown Detroit markets that are set up in Cadillac Square. I love those little markets. They really highlight local businesses. And then there’s the Cadillac Lodge, carriage rides and more. There’s also going to be a Santa skate party and ugly holiday sweater party on Saturday and a Frozen skate party on Sunday. I really enjoyed Britney Spears’ memoir. I mean, I listened to the audio book. Let’s be clear. I don’t read books. But as you’ve probably heard, she had a few things to say about Justin Timberlake. We reported on all of this when it first came out. She terminated a pregnancy that she had with him, he was cheating on her all over the place while they lived together, he was super awkward when he met rappers and certain people. Everyone has been talking about them, including Timbaland, who made a comment that Justin should have put a muzzle on Britney. Well he back-tracked on that remark pretty quickly. He made a video post apologizing to Britney and her fans. I’m wondering if he immediately realized what he said or if he went backstage and then saw everything blow up online and then he realized he was wrong? Okay, so many argue that Strasbourg, France, takes that honor, but Frankenmuth is close, and it’s a lot cheaper to get there. No passport needed. The villiage’s Franconian-style architecture has given it the loving name “Little Bavaria.” Frankenmuth is also home to the world’s biggest Christmas store.
