96th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Balloon Inflation

Parade goers will be lining Woodward Thanksgiving morning for Detroit’s annual parade. Be sure to check for road closures if you’re heading downtown.

Detroit Thanksgiving Day Parade Returns

The huge Thanksgiving Day parade here in Detroit returns tomorrow. It’s a three miles stretch along Woodward from Kirby to Congress and kicks off at Kirby and Woodward at 8.45 AM. The Grand Marshal’s this year are Detroit Lions legend Lomas Brown and Detroit TV legend Huel Perkins. The People Mover is going to be free tomorrow but know that there’s lots of road closures in that area, plus there’s definitely bus routes that are affected. They’re only taking certain bus routes to one location, so make sure that if you’re traveling in that area or need the bus system to check ahead. If you want to watch from home, coverage is going to begin at 6:00 AM with the actual parade starting at 9:00 AM on WDIV, Channel 4. Quavo released a cookbook just in time for Thanksgiving. It features family recipes and focuses on healthy eating.

Quavo Releases Free Cookbook of Family Recipes Online

Quavo from The Migos has released a family cookbook just in time for Thanksgiving. It’s called Huncho Farms Cookbook and it’s an initiative of his Quavo Cares non-profit. The book is in partnership with Urban Recipe and Atlanta Community Food Bank. Along with family recipes, there’s tons of healthy cooking tips and it’s all available for free on his website. The announcement came at a farmers market in Atlanta where they fed like 300 families who received fresh produce and hygiene products and a hard copy of the book.

Quavo said, “We came from nothing, so it’s only right that we give back to the people that have nothing or have less. We just try to help the best way we can. This is just a small portion to the big things that we’re doing.” So, they’re pushing a healthier eating lifestyle for the community. Eminem Rumored To Perform at Fortnite Event

Eminem isn’t much of a gamer, but he could be invading Fortnite before the end of this year. There’s a Big Bang live event next month and allegedly, supposedly, it’s supposed to feature a performance from him. It will be similar to what they did with Travis Scott and Marshmello when they did that live thing. And apparently he’s going to have two new skins added to the game, one is called Slim Shady and the other is named Marshall Mathers No More. Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful. That could be being thankful for your friends, family, a new job, a new relationship, graduating school, the birth of a new child, or personal growth from the year prior. It’s also a time to show off a bit. More often than not, you’re planning your flyest outfit to outdress all of your cousins in the living room. You might play football with your family in the yard (or leave it to the professionals on the television). Or you might want to play board games with your family while waiting for the food — and watch out for your uncle, who always cheats. Eventually, you’ll make your way to the dining room table with traditional food from your culture and catch up with family you haven’t seen in a while. You might find yourself dodging questions like “How’s school?” or “Are you dating anyone?” as you politely decline to disclose any personal information that your nosy aunt can’t seem to find out about you on Facebook.

While Thanksgiving shenanigans are bound to happen, the reality of the holiday can also be a solemn time for some. If you are grieving someone this year, do what you can to make the holiday as bearable as possible.

As much as we want to enjoy our family and friends this Thanksgiving, we are thankful for television, too. Television has a funny way of reflecting on what happens in real life. First off, there is always some sort of drama. Whether that is someone coming in fashionably late, your cousin who thinks they can cook bringing their “special dish” that ends up in the trash at the end of the night, or you politely having to cut off that relative who continues to make their way to the alcohol. However, your Thanksgiving ends up being this year, your favorite characters have got your back.
