Are You One Of 600,000 Michigan Residents Affected In Data Breach
Make sure that you aren’t apart of the group that could be compromised.
Michigan residents could have their private information out on the dark web today, due to a data breach of a little known company named Wolverine Solutions Group. This company handles sensitive health care information for most of the areas well known and used health care providers.
Information such as Social Security numbers, contact information and current addresses for all the major providers. Patients that potentially hit by this include those who use Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Health Alliance Plan, McLaren Health Care, Three Rivers Health and North Ottawa Community Health System.
According to Channel 7 WXYZ … “Wolverine is offering two levels of identity protection to individuals affected by the breach,” said Department of Insurance and Financial Services Director Anita Fox. “If you receive a letter from the company, we urge you to read it carefully and consider enrolling in the free credit monitoring service.”
According to the Wolverine Solutions Group website … “WSG is taking steps to guard against identity theft or fraud. We arranged for affected individuals to have AllClear ID protect their identity. The following identity protection services start on the date of the individual receiving a notice letter and can be used at any time during the next 12 months.”
It should be noted that company doesn’t believe that any information was extracted in the breach. However just to be on the safe side they’ve sent letters to those who could be affected by this. More on this story as it develops.
