Jennifer Crumbley Mom of Oxford School Shooter Found Guilty
He was charged with his crimes and later pled guilty to murder, terrorism, and other charges. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole in December 2023.
According to reports and a psychologist that testified in his trial, Ethan Crumley suffered from mental illness. Authorities said his parents knew this, failed to get him help, and still purchased a firearm for him just four days before the shooting. Now, a jury has agreed and found his mother, Jennifer Crumbley guilty of four counts of involuntary manslaughter. The father, James Crumbley is being tried separately and is still awaiting trial.

According to USA TODAY, this case sets precedent as it is the first time a parent of a school shooter in the United States has been convicted for their involvement in the shooting. WDIV Detroit states that she is facing a maximum of 15 years for each count totaling 60 years. She will also have to pay $30,000 in fines.
