If you’re one of those people that don’t close the lid when you flush the toilet, there’s a new video that may convince you to start!
A TikTok user named @xxiamkristinxx went viral when she shared a Discovery Channel clip from the 2011 program Curiosity where host Mike Rowe learned why the toilet seat should be closed.
In the video, a Dr. demonstrates that when you flush the toilet a “fountain” forms that can spread E. coli or staphylococcus up to ten feet!! Gross!!
The TikTok user says the video caused her to change her flushing habits permanently.
