9th Person Dies From Injuries Sustained At Travis Scott’s Astroworld
Another person has died due to their injuries suffered at Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival.
22-year-old Bharti Shahani who was a senior at Texas A&M University passed away Thursday after the injuries sustained from the Houston festival, according to her family’s attorney per TMZ.
According to TMZ, Shahani had been declared brain dead and was on a ventilator. The 22-year-old attended the concert with her sister and cousin who all got separated during the crowd surge. Bharti suffered several heart attacks and was sent to a local hospital.
A rep for Bharti’s family confirmed she was the woman in a video obtained by the outlet that was dropped on her head as she was carried out by first responders.
Travis Scott has offered to pay for funeral arrangements for the victim’s families along with providing mental health services for the survivors.
A source from Travis Scott’s camp told the outlet, “Over the last week, Travis Scott and his team have been actively exploring routes of connection with each and every family affected by the tragedy through the appropriate liaisons. He is distraught by the situation and desperately wishes to share his condolences and provide aid to them as soon as possible, but wants to remain respectful of each family’s wishes on how they’d best like to be connected.”
