Travis Scott, Drake, & More Sued For $750M By 125 Astroworld Victims
Travis Scott, Drake, Apple, Live Nation, and others are now being sued by 125 fans in a massive $750 million lawsuit including the family of one who died at the festival per TMZ.
The suit, filed by Houston attorney Tony Buzbee, is blaming Scott and the other parties for “negligence in failing to properly plan the concert, train security personnel and host a safe event.”
Buzbee said per the outlet, “No amount of money will ever make these Plaintiffs whole; no amount of money can restore human life. But, the damages sought in this case attempts to fix, help, or make up for the harms and losses suffered by these Plaintiffs — nothing more and nothing less.”
One of the plaintiffs is the family of Axel Acosta, a 21-year-old who was allegedly crushed by an “incited, unruly and out-of-control crowd with such force that he could no longer breathe.”
The lawsuit claims it’s to cover “both physical and mental health injuries as well as the loss of life.”
10 people have lost their lives due to injuries sustained at the festival including most recently a nine-year-old boy, Ezra Blount.
Scott and Live Nation have offered full refunds to concertgoers however the lawsuit addresses the offer, calling it, “… a transparent and grotesque effort of the Defendants to limit their liability, after the fact, to the families of those killed or injured.” It is worth mentioning that attendees that accept the refund could be waiving their right to sue.
Scott has offered to pay for the funerals of the victims and has partnered up with BetterHelp to provide therapy sessions for those affected.
