An ‘Over-The-Top’ Sweet Shop Is Opening In Berkley
Bombshell Treat Bar announced on Tuesday that it plans to open its first brick-and-mortar store in downtown Berkley. The store will haveBombshell’s signature chocolate dipped ice cream bars. They will also sell specialty ice cream cakes and pints, floats, treats, candies and more.
The former ice-cream shop came about just months after the start of the pandemic in 2020. They began a series of public pop-ups using their “Big Dipper” ice cream cart on wheels. Bombshell Treat Bar has made stops throughout Metro Detroit. They have served sweet treats at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Ford Piquette Avenue Plant, University of Michigan Football Stadium and Neiman Marcus.
Bombshell Treat Bar specializes in scratch-made ice cream bars dipped in Belgian chocolate and topped with a wide variety of premium drizzles and sprinkles.
The Signature Bars
- Sweet & Salty, which has potato chip ice cream, dark chocolate shell, crushed potato chips, crumbled pretzels, gooey caramel drizzle and pink sea salt.
- Cherry Bomb, which has Madagascar vanilla ice cream, Michigan cherry shell, cherry pop rocks, and dark chocolate drizzle)
- Gimme S’more, which has toasted marshmallow ice cream, milk chocolate shell, torched marshmallow fluff, dark chocolate drizzle, and graham cracker square.
“Bombshell Treat Bar was born out of a desire to put more joy into the world,” said owner Jill Kasle in a news release. “Getting started during the pandemic was a real challenge, but we’re proud that we were able to push through and continue to grow. Berkley is going to be very special, and we can’t wait to open our doors,” said Kasle.
The 2,200 square foot space is founded and operated by Birmingham natives Jill and Matt Kasle. Pastry Chef Tori Parnell, previously of Parc will run the culinary operations.
The new brick-and-mortar store is being designed by Mcintosh Poris Associates. It will be located at 2688 Coolidge Hwy.
Additional details surrounding build-out, grand opening, menu and more will be announced as the project continues.
