Michigan Has a New Most Dangerous City
There are always new reports coming out about the most dangerous cities in the county and Michigan. Earlier this month, we reported on a study that named the No. 1 most dangerous city in Michigan Saginaw. Now, a new study has surfaced that names a different Michigan town the most dangerous in the state.
The new research comes from UrbanSplatter.com. In the study, they state, “If you are looking to move to Michigan, it’s important to know which cities are the most dangerous. These places are plagued by high crime rates, urban decay, and poverty.” They add that the cities they highlighted have a “higher than average violent and property crime rate.”
The report actually lists four Michigan cities as the most dangerous in the state. On the tally, No. 4 is Flint, No. 3 is Battle Creek and No. 2 is Muskegon Heights. I’ve seen all of those cities on lists regarding having high crime, so I’m not super surprised. But, what’s the No. 1 most dangerous city in Michigan? They give Benton Harbor that honor. The nice thing, though, is that they say just because the city has high crime rates, that “doesn’t mean that it is unsafe to live here. There are plenty of safe areas within the city as well as nearby communities.” In other words, every city has some dicey areas. That doesn’t mean you should give up on the town, especially if you’re offered a great job in that area. Just be smart about where you live and how you get around town.
