Michigan Coney Island Favorite Permanently Closes Its Door
It doesn’t get much better than a local Michigan restaurant. It’s always a great moment when a new, locally-owned restaurant pops up, but it’s also disappointing when a local favorite closes its doors. Especially if it’s a Michigan Coney Island favorite.
Last week, one beloved Michigan Coney Island spot closed for good.
Zeus’ Coney Island in Lansing has been a popular spot to get your Coney on since 2005. On their last day, the place was packed, according to reports, and they even had to turn some people away.
Since Zeus’ Coney Island has been around for almost 18 years, the loss is a big one for the local community. The building where the restaurant is housed has been listed for sale for a while, so the closing wasn’t a total surprise. But, it was still sad. Many regulars took to social media to give their tributes.
So, what’s going to happen to the space where Zeus’ Coney Island once stood, on Pennsylvania avenue in Lansing? No word yet, but it’s likely another restaurant will pop up. Regardless, nothing will ever replace Zeus’ Coney Island. Thankfully, Michigan has plenty of other great spots to get your Coney Island on, but we will sure miss this one.
