Michigan Girl Saved from Kidnapping in Unbelievable Way
It’s every parent’s worst nightmare: Your child is kidnapped. One Michigan girl is safe, thanks to an unbelievable way that she and her brother fought of her kidnapper.
According to the Michigan State Police, troopers with the Alpena Post were to a place of residence in Alpena Township on Wednesday (May 10) for an attempted child abduction. Read on for the details.
As for the incident, an eight-year-old girl form Alpena County bravely fought off her attempted kidnapper, as he came in for the attack. Moreover, her older brother shot the suspect with a slingshot, according to police.
The preliminary investigation reveals that a seven-year-old girl was hunting for mushrooms in the backyard of her home when an unknown man came out of the woods. Then, he tried to kidnap her. The man held the girl’s mouth shut to keep her quiet, but she struggled and was able to break free of him, according to officials. She wasn’t the only hero. Her brother was a big part of her safety, too. The child’s 13-year-old brother saw the incident in the backyard, and he actually shot the suspect in the head and chest with a slingshot, according to police.
They caught the guy, too. After the police broadcast around the area a description of the suspect, one of the girl’s family members saw a man who looked similar to the description running from the area. Later that day, troopers found the suspect hiding at a local gas station. When the suspect was arrested, police him as a 17-year-old from Alpena. What was the major giveaway? According to investigators, the suspect had signs of injuries on his head and chest where he was hit by the brother’s slingshot injuries. So, the brother was very helpful here. According to police, the suspect is being charged as an adult. But, they are not releasing his identity right now.
