Michigan Burger Named the Most Underrated in America
Michigan has some fantastic burgers. As it turns out, one Michigan burger is the most underrated in all of America. It’s the perfect season for a burger, so read on for the scoop.
What’s interesting about this study is that it’s not a restaurant we’re talking about- it’s actually a type and style of burger. Both TheDailyMeal.com and TheTakeout.com are in agreement that this type of burger is the most underrated in America.
That burger is the Olive Burger, and both sites call it a Michigan burger, since it is the “undisputed home of the olive burger,” according to TheDailyMeal.com. They add, “The highly underrated regional version of the classic dish is unique to the Midwest, and it just might be worth a trip to the Great Lake State.”
TheDailyMeal.com adds that the olive burger dates back to one original location: Halo Burger, first known as Kewpie Hotel Hamburgers. “The Midwestern chain, which started in Flint, has served the dish at its outposts across the region since the 1920s,” TheDailyMeal.com states. “The Halo Burger version comes with tomato, white onion, lettuce, pickles, American cheese, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, and a generous heap of green olives.”
Both outlets also recommend trying the Midwestern chain Beef-A-Roo, which offers a simpler version of the Olive Burger. It has a quarter-pound beef patty with Swiss cheese, mayonnaise and green olives on a sesame seed bun. Check out more about these delicious options via TheDailyMeal.com and TheTakeout.com. What’s your favorite burger? For me, since I’m a vegetarian, I love a good veggie burger. I still haven’t found a veggie burger that I absolutely love, at least after they got rid of the original Gardenburger. But, one great things is that Michigan has lots of good burger stops, so you never want for a burger in this state.
