Usher Announces Past Present Future Tour
In addition to the new album, fans who couldn’t come to his Vegas residency will now have a chance to see him on tour. The R&B star announced his Past Present Future Tour this week, which will start in Washington, D.C., and make his way to Brooklyn, Atlanta, Miami, and more over the course of his 24-stop trek. He will also be the first performer at Los Angeles’ Inuit Dome. The tour will end in Chicago after two nights on Oct. 28 and Oct. 29 in the city’s United Center.
Usher’s Super Bowl Halftime Show
Next up for Usher is his Super Bowl Halftime Show on Sunday (Feb. 11). It was recently announced that the singer’s Super Bowl performance will be longer than previous sets by two minutes. Usher’s Super Bowl Halftime performance is set to clock out at 15 minutes.
In an interview per VIBE last month, the “Superstar” crooner said that the show will implement his love for rollerskating, have a “major costume change,” and honor R&B music.
In his latest interview with Vogue, in which he graces the cover alongside model Carolyn Murphy, Usher gave some insight on what is to come of his Super Bowl performance.
“This night was specifically curated in my mind to have R&B take the main stage,” Usher told the publication.
He added that the artists selected to be a part of his set are “people who represent, for him, the genre’s architects…Not just R&B music, but R&B performance, R&B connection, R&B spirit.”
