Where to Party For St. Patrick’s Day in Detroit
St. Patrick’s Day is on Sunday, and even though the Detroit St. Patrick’s Day parade happened last weekend, there are plenty of other places to go.
You can go to Royal Oak St. Patty’s Day parade, Saturday from noon until 1:00 PM.
Of course, there’s the Old Shillelagh downtown on Monroe. That’s an iconic spot. They kick off Sunday at 7:00 AM and they always have a ton of stuff going on, an outdoor tent and more.
And Mean Jean & The Bounce Squad will be at Hamlin’s Pub in Clarkston from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Go and party with Mean Jean and you could also win some concert tickets while he’s out there.
Also, a heads-up for drivers, the Lodge is going to be closed between I-75 and Grand River. So, if you are heading downtown for the festivities and stuff, know that you’re going to be detoured. Plan ahead. That closure is going to affect downtown traffic from 8:00 PM Friday until Monday at 5:00 AM.

Lil Mama Breaks Silence About Her Infamous VMA Moment
More than 15 years later, we finally hear from Lil Mama about her infamously iconic VMA moment when she hopped on stage with Jay-Z and Alicia Keys while they were performing their hit “Empire State of Mind”. If you don’t remember, here’s a clip. You’ll notice Beyoncé trying to hold her back…
In a recent interview, Lil Mama talked about the backlash she received and said, “I was hurt, I was depressed. I was like, ‘What’s going on?’ You got everybody telling you you’re doing bad. People pointing at you like, ‘What did you do?’”
You can see her tearing up in the video. It clearly still affects her to this day. There’s sometimes I say something, put my foot in my mouth, and I still think about it years later. So, I get it. Here’s a clip of Lil Mama addressing that moment…
