New DMX Album Is Coming In December
If you’re a DMX fan, like I am I’ve got some good news for you. A new DMX album is on the way. The album will be titled Let Us Pray: Chapter X, and the new DMX album coming in December, and will be released in December 13, 2024, which will be his second posthumous album, following the 2021 Exodus album.
The album will feature eight songs and will be produced by GRAMMY Award-winning songwriter and producer, Warryn Campbell. Campbell’s career goes back to 1995 working with DJ Quik on his third album, Safe + Sound. Since then, he’s worked with some of the biggest names in Hip Hop, R&B and Gospel: including Kanye West, Alicia Keys, Missy Elliott and Mary Mary (a group which includes his wife, Erica Atkins) to name a few. I remember talking with a label rep, who worked shows with DMX in the past. He told me a story about being at a show with DMX. During the show, the rep told me how one minute he was performing and the whole crowd was losing their collective minds. Then in the next moment he was on stage doing a prayer and the entire crowd was silent and listening to every word.
As an artist, DMX was raw and real, which is why he connected so well with fans over the years. A lot of times when posthumous albums are released, they feel unnecessary and forced. What I like about this album is that it seems to have some meaning.
