R. Kelly Allegedly ‘Controlled’ Live-In Girlfriends During CBS interview
Back in 2019, during the infamous sit-down interview with Gayle King and two of R.Kelly’s live-in girlfriends at the time, one of the women testified in court Tuesday, claiming the disgraced singer was the one pulling the strings during the interview.
The witness who is being ID’d as Jane Doe, told the jury that during the 2019 interview, Kelly was leading the interview off camera while King was asking her and the other girlfriend questions.
She says, “Kelly would cough on set that day to keep them on script as the taping went on all in an effort, she alleges, to make sure they backed his denials,” per TMZ. Kelly and CBS have not yet commented on these claims.
The witness also claims that Kelly would not let them watch “Surviving R. Kelly,” the Lifetime docuseries that detailed the singer’s alleged sexual criminal activity with underaged women. She says they had to immediately change the channel anytime it came on TV.
As of now, two women have testified in the trial, both claiming that Kelly abused them since they were teenagers. More witnesses are expected to testify as the trial continues.
