Detroit Tigers Opening Day
It’s one of the biggest days of the year around here, Opening Day! The game begins at 1:10 PM against the Boston Red Sox at Comerica Park, but the festivities start much earlier than that. They do say tickets for the game are still available for purchase. They’re starting at $65 for standing room only. The gates at Comerica Park are open at 10:30 AM and they have partnered with ParkWhiz for fans to find available parking in the vicinity. They encourage people to get there early because they have a bunch of activities and stuff going on. Like the Miller Lite Home Run Happy Hour when beer, hard seltzers and hot dogs will cost only $5 each.
I do want to give you a quick reminder, especially for the ladies. You cannot bring large purses into the park. And obviously there’s a ton of prohibited items that you can’t bring, including snacks and coolers. You’ll be asked to take those things back to your car so just be prepared so you don’t have to make that extra trip back.
And once again, Mean Jean and the 105.1 the Bounce Street Team will be at the Detroit Sports Bar & Grille from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM before the game. It’s a great place to pre-game, so if you’re on Woodward, on your way to Comerica Park, go see them and you can get qualified to win some tickets to see Lil Wayne!
Lizzo in Mandalorian
Well, this was so super cute. Lizzo made a surprise appearance on the Star Wars spinoff, The Mandalorian. She played “The Duchess”, who is the leader of a planet and her love interest in the episode was none other than Jack Black, who also made a cameo on the show. And she even had several scenes with “Grogu”, better known to everyone as ‘Baby Yoda’. Lizzo looked really, really great and it must have been a thrill because she’s a huge fan of the show. She even dressed up as ‘Baby Yoda’ a couple years for Halloween. So, congratulations to her.
Jay-Z Forbes List
Forbes released their list of Billionaires, and once again, I’m not on it. In fact, I’m nowhere near it. One person who did make the list though was Jay-Z, who is now the only rapper left on that list. A certain rapper, who shall remain nameless but who can’t seem to get his stuff together, it seems has lost his billionaire status leaving Jay as the only billionaire in hip-hop. They say he grew his net worth this year from $1.5-billion to $2-billion since this past fall. His wealth increased due in part to him selling 50% of his liquor company. I can’t even imagine. I’m over here trying to figure out how make $20 on the stock market right now.
