Metro Detroit Easter Egg Hunts
A lot of Easter egg hunts happened last weekend but there’s still some things that you can do to get kids out of the house this weekend! There’s Bunnyville at the Detroit Zoo in Royal Oak today and tomorrow. They’ll have live entertainment, pics with the Easter Bunny, egg hunts and more. In Detroit there’s going to be some Easter fun at the Heilmann Recreation Center Saturday from noon until 4:00 PM. They’re going to have a Ferris wheel, pony rides, carnival games, visits with the Easter Bunny and more. For my Down River folks, there will be a huge Easter egg hunt Saturday from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the Vreeland Park in Riverview. They’re going to have 2100 candy filled eggs for the kiddos to search for. And for the adults? Historic Fort Wayne in Detroit is having an adult-only egg hunt Saturday from 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM. You’ll learn about history, hunt for eggs and have the chance to win other prizes as well.
Coolio’s Cause of Death Revealed
Well, as you know, Coolio unfortunately passed away unexpectedly back in September and he had tons of stuff going on at the time of his passing. Well, the coroner’s report has now been released and it seems he passed from a cocktail of drugs, including fentanyl, heroin, methamphetamines. And the the coroner also stated that his long habit of cigarette smoking may have added to his death as he had asthma. Very unfortunate. That’s sucks to hear.
Donda Academy Sued
Guess who’s facing another lawsuit? Kanye West. Surprise, surprise. Two women are suing his Donda Academy stating that they were fired for reporting education, safety, and health code violations. Some of these accusations are just nuts. They said that the only option available for students every single day for lunch was sushi. Now I love sushi, but that’s not healthy to eat every single day. Especially for kids! The lawsuit also states that kids weren’t allowed to bring anything else in besides water. The students and teachers were not allowed to sit in chairs. They had to stand for the entire class. Everyone was locked in during the day. They weren’t allowed to leave at any point or go out for recess or have any outdoor time all during the school day. They also said there were two African American women that they were fired based on their race and that they were shorted in their pay. So, we’ll have to see what comes of that. That’s not the only lawsuit against him right now. But like Mean Jean said when I told him about this story, who would’ve thought that an uncredited school run by a rapper would be a bad thing? Insert eye roll here.
