The Detroit Lions are making a major trade.

The team is trading cornerback Jeff Okudah to the Atlanta Falcons, reports ESPN NFL Insider Field Yates.

Okudah’s agent, Kevin Conner of Universal Sports & Entertainment Management, told ESPN the news. The Falcons will get a fifth-round pick in this year’s draft to the Lions, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Okudah was the third overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. He only place in 10 games in his first two seasons with Detroit because of various injuries. He was healthy last season, though, and played 15 games.

ESPN notes that, “The Lions added cornerbacks Cam Sutton and Emmanuel Moseley in free agency this offseason, with both likely to be starters, making a trade of Okudah more palatable.”
