Metro Detroit Weekend Events
If you missed out on some egg hunts the past couple of weeks, you are in luck. You can still take the kids this weekend. Maybury Farm in Northville is hosting an “Eggstravaganza” which features egg hunts, face painting, crafts, farm animals and more. Take the kids! Get ’em out of the house. The weather’s going to be great for it. It’s happening Saturday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Also, if you’re into horror films, Motor City Legacy Horror Convention and Film Festival happens this weekend. There will be meet and greets with actors, film screenings and more. That happens at the Sheraton Detroit Metro Airport in Romulus all weekend.
If that’s not enough horror for you, there’s the Straight Farmhouse Ghost Hunt at Straight Farmhouse in Garden City. The farmhouse was built in 1866 and the ghost hunt goes down this Saturday from 8:00 PM til 1:00 AM.
Denzel Talks Drake
Well, Denzel Washington was on Good Morning America and recalled a story from the early 90s with a surprise celebrity cameo. Denzel said, “I met a kid in Toronto who came up and was fascinated because I was, like, this star and he wanted to talk to me and he couldn’t believe that he met me. Well, 10 or 15 years later, he came up and he said, ‘you don’t remember when you met me?’ I said, ‘no.’ His name is Drake. And he said what I said to him, he never forgot.” Denzel didn’t say what that advice was, but it clearly affected Drake because he got a tattoo of Denzel in 2017 on his back! So, Drake clearly has stuck with him forever.
Nicki Minaj Starring in Comic Book Series
This is interesting. Nicki Minaj is going to star in a new animated comic book series! It’s called Lady Danger and it’s going to be produced by her, 50 Cent, and a bunch of others. It’s based on the Dark Horse comic book series and Lady Danger is described as an “Afro-futuristic, butt-kicking agent” of “B.O.O.T.I.” The Bureau Of Organized Terrorism Intervention. No word yet on when it’s going to be released, but if you’re a Nicki fan or a comic book fan, make sure you check that out
