Lil Uzi Vert Teases ‘Barter 16’ As ‘Pink Tape’ Is Rap’s 1st #1 Album of 2023
Lil Uzi Vert has come out on top. The Philadelphia rapper scored hip-hop’s first No. 1 album of the year with Pink Tape. The last album hip-hop album that went No. 1 was Metro Boomin’s Heroes & Villians which spent one week atop the chart dated Dec. 17, 2022, Billboard reports. This is the rapper’s third chart-topper.
Last week, Uzi asked his fans to get Pink Tape to No. 1, and in return, they would receive a new project.
“Get this 2 number one, and I will drop the album y’all really looking for,” Uzi wrote alongside a photo of the album’s cover on their Instagram Story on Tuesday (July 4).

Now, Uzi is keeping their promise saying that another project is on the way.

“Free Slime,” Uzi added referencing Yung Thug who has been incarcerated since May 2022.

Currently written in Uzi’s Instagram bio is “Luv is rage 3” and “Barter 16 BSoon” signifying that the latter will come first. It was a three-year wait between Pink Tape and Eternal Atake so fans should not get their hopes up that much for that project.
Luv is Rage 3 would be the follow-up to their debut studio album Luv is Rage 2. The debut project was released in 2017. The original Love is Rage was their debut commercial mixtape released in 2015. Uzi followed up Luv is Rage 2 with 2020’s Eternal Atake. That same year, they released Lil Uzi Vert vs. the World 2 and his collab album with Future Pluto × Baby Pluto. Prior to the Pink Tape, Uzi released his EP Red & White in 2022.
The release date for Barter 16 nor Luv is rage 3 has been announced.
However, if you want to see Uzi perform Pink Tape live, you can catch them on tour. The Pink Tape Tour starts on October 21 in Minneapolis and ends in their hometown of Philadelphia on November 22.
