Detroit Sports Talk: Are the Lions Going to the Super Bowl?
More blue Kool-Aid, please. I will not calm down! Nope. I’ve already had a few people call me out on Twitter/X, saying, “Anne! You and all the Detroit Lions fans need to calm down.” Sorry, but if you’ve been a Lions fan as long as I have, you get it. We’re 7-2 after a riveting game against the Los Angeles Chargers, and it feels electric. So, what are the Lions’ chances of going to the Super Bowl?
That statement used to be a joke. The Lions at the Super Bowl? But, now, we’re so serious about it. In fact, some NFL analysts are starting to look at the Lions are being real Super Bowl contenders this year. The Lions are now alone as No. 1 in the NFC North standings, ahead of the Vikings, who are No. 2 at 6-4. Right after Sunday’s big win, Tony Romo said on the CBS broadcast that the Lions could win – yes, not just appear, but win – the Super Bowl this year. So, the Lions’ chances of going to the Super Bowl are getting better and better. Of course, the Lions have never won a Super Bowl, so this is big.
Joe Chapp from the Detroit Lions News Podcast is the guest on “The Squad with Anne Erickson” today to talk about the Lions’ game against the Chargers, what’s ahead and who stand as the strongest teams in the NFL right now. We also talk about some key players in the NFL this year, including Justin Herbert, Jalen Hurts, Patrick Mahomes, Jared Goff, Dan Campbell and more. As Goff says, coach Campbell “has balls,” and that shows in the Lions’ last-minute, chancy plays. There’s lots to delve into this season, and it’s all good stuff.
