Detroit’s Chandler Park to Get New Sports Dome
Chandler Park over on the east side is Detroit’s fourth largest park. It’s got 200 acres sports fields, sports courts, skate park, walking paths and more. Now they’re adding a 130,000-square-foot sports dome. They’re going to have a multi-use court for basketball, volleyball, and pickleball. There’s also going to be a football field and track for various sports, including the Soccer in the D program, which has just taken off over the past couple of years. Now they’ll have a venue for that.
There’s also going to be multi-purpose rooms for community activities and more. They just broke ground, well, they didn’t technically break ground because it’s too cold to put a shovel in. But they are starting work over there, so it’s going to be a minute before it’s up, but it is on the way. This is a big deal. It gives a lot of the residents a place to go for recreation and stuff, and I’m, all about that. Ludacris Has a New TV Series Coming
It looks like Ludacris is getting a new TV series, and it’s he’s going to be based upon his career at the beginning, the early days when he was a radio DJ. His name back then was Chris Lova Lova. And the characters, I guess, are willing to do anything and everything to bolster their ratings at their hip-hop radio station. So, I think that was going to be a cool show to check out for sure. There’s no release date yet but there are going to be half-hour per episode dramedy, like a drama-comedy, on Paramount’s BET Plus.
Grammy Awards Performers Announced
I told you last week that Diddy is not going to be at the Grammys due to his sexual assault lawsuits. Well, now we’re finding out who will be there and who’s going to be performing. Travis Scott is not only nominated for one Grammy for his UTOPIA album, but he’ll also be performing. So will Billy Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo and Burna Boy who will be the first African artist to perform at the Grammys.
Others like country star Luke Combs and Dua Lipa have also been announced as performers and Trevor Noah will host the awards. Drake and 21 Savage are nominated for Best Rap Album, and so are Metro Boomin, Travis Scott, Killer Mike and Nas. So, that’s a pretty stacked category this year. The Grammy’s air on February 4th.
