The watch party at Ford Field for Sunday’s Lions game is sold out. But there are plenty of other places in Metro Detroit to party with fellow Lions fans.

Detroit Spots to Watch The Lions Game Sunday

Obviously, the big game is this Sunday for the NFC Championship against San Francisco. And from polls they’ve done, the whole country is practically rooting for us. I’ve seen some cool things like many Detroiters changing the lights on their porches to blue to support the Lions. They’re having a big watch party at Ford Field which sold out within a couple of hours. But there are so many other watch parties going on around Metro Detroit, so I wanted to fill you in on a few of those if you want to go and be part of a crowd to watch them win.

There’s going to be one at Diamondback Music Hall in Belleville that starts at 5:00 PM. The game starts at 6:30 PM. Entry is free and there’s an all-you-can-eat buffet for $25. I’ve heard that it’s a really, really great venue. They’ve redone the whole inside and the sound system and everything.

And then downtown at The Old Shillelagh, Detroit Shipping Company, Brass Rail and more. I obviously can’t name every place downtown because you can pretty much guarantee anywhere downtown they’re probably going to be doing something. There’s also Pronto! in Royal Oak who are having a party and a bunch more. So, go on and enjoy it. It’s going to be a good game and hopefully, like I said, they pull that win out. Detroit Lions Coach Dan Campbell has plenty to smile about. He was named the NFC Coach of the Year and is a finalist for NFL Coach of the Year.

Speaking of the NFL, shout out to the announced the finalists for NFL Honors this year. Those are all the season-end awards they do the Thursday before the Super Bowl. Lions Head Coach Dan Campbell is one of the finalists for Coach of the Year. And then Sam LaPorta and Jahmyr Gibbs are both in as finalists for Offensive Rookie of the Year. Coach Campbell also won NFC Coach of the Year, which is awesome.

There’s no love lost between Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj. The two just released bars dissing one another.

The drama between female rappers continues. The feud between Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion has been heating up this past year. They’ve been throwing shade at each other in songs and interviews.

Well, Megan just dropped a new song called “Hiss” where she drops the line, “These h*es don’t be mad at Megan, these h*es mad at Megan’s Law”. Of course, Megan’s Law requires law enforcement to make information available to the public regarding registered sex offenders. So, that’s likely a shot at Nicki because her husband, Kenny Petty, is a registered sex offender after pleading guilty at the age of 16 to attempted rape. He’s been on house arrest since I think July of 2022.

So, Nicki Minaj got in the studio right after it was released and within an hour came up with this line. “Bad b*tch she like 6-foot, I call her big foot. The b*tch fell off, I said get up on your good foot”. That’s messed up. It doesn’t look like their war of words is going to end anytime soon.

Sexual assault and sexual trafficking allegations have surfaced against former head of WWE, Vince McMahon. The details are disgusting.

Disturbing Allegations Against WWE’s Vince McMahon

WWE is Mean Jean’s thing, so I had to have him break all of this down for me. But there is a bunch of allegations that came out about WWE’s former owner, Vince McMahon. McMahon, “retired” a couple years back after a story from the Wall Street Journal came out about sexual abuse and sexual assault on someone who worked under him. Well, yesterday some disturbing details came out about the case where McMahon and another executive allegedly locked this woman in a room at WWE’s headquarters and took turns sexually assaulting her.

Another of the allegations was that he sent these wild text messages about how he had showed her pictures and videos to the ring crew and some of the wrestlers and they liked what they saw. He’s basically sex trafficking her between other staff members in the WWE. Come on. Is this where we’re at? Is this what we’re still doing? It’s insane. Not only is it disgusting and criminal, but everything always comes out in the end. With the climate today, especially, why would you continue still be doing this stuff?

TKO, the company who now owns WWE and the UFC, made a statement that said, “Mr. McMahon does not control TKO or oversee day-to-day operations at WWE. While this matter predates our executive teams tenure to the company, we take her horrific allegations very seriously and are addressing them internally.” Vince McMahon’s people released a statement essentially denying all of the allegations. We’ll have to see what happens with that. Personally, I hope they bury him. 10 Things You May Not Know About Jared Goff

Jared Goff is something of a hometown hero in Detroit, even though he’s not from here. At this point, Goff is a true Michigander. He posesses grit and determination. He’s also helped bring the Detroit Lions more victories than they’ve had in decades. And, it’s only getting better. That said, Goff isn’t the kind of guy who lets his personal life hang out there. So, yeah, he’s a bit mysterious. That said, let’s get into some things you may not know about Jared Goff.

First of all, I love how even-keeled Goff is when it comes to his quarterback position. He understands that you’re going to have some bad games and plays, and he doesn’t let that rattle him. How strong. Goff also seems very stable and balanced. So, he’s better equipped to handle things under press, and that’s really helped the Lions this season.

Now, with the NFC Championship game looming, Goff understands how much a win would mean to the city of Detroit. He also understood what it would mean to win the NFC North division, which the Lions did earlier in the season. “I understand how special it’ll be for the city,” Goff said at the time during a press conference. “Absolutely, we understand that and how long the fans have waited and all that, we certainly understand that, but I think we have to focus on what we can control and that’s this week right now.” He added that, “I think I’ve said this before, but we don’t carry the weight of the last 30 years here, we don’t. It’s the 2023 Lions and we’re different than last year’s team and the year before and 30 years before that.”

    Jared Goff first started his football career at Marin Catholic High School in Kentfield, California. He shined on the football team while there. So, he was a star from the start.

  • He gives back to that high school

  • He's only played on two NFL teams

    While some NFL players switch around a lot during their careers, Jared Goff has only played for two teams. Those teams, of course, are the Los Angeles Rams and Detroit Lions. He was with the Los Angeles Rams from 2016 to 2020 and has been with the Lions since 2021.

  • He's been to a Super Bowl

    When Goff came to Detroit, a lot of people were skeptical. But, this guy has actually been to a Super Bowl, so we were always in good hands. In his second year with the Rams, he help bring the Rams their first winning season in 14 years. He also took the team to Super Bowl LIII, which marked the Rams’ first Super Bowl appearance since 2001. So, why did Sean McVay let him go? Honestly, it was a great thing for Detroit. Finders keepers.

  • He grew up a San Francisco 49ers fan

    Uh, oh. The Lions have to beat the 49ers to get to the Super Bowl. But, Jared Goff grew up a 49ers fan. He actually wears the No. 16 as a tribute to Joe Montana. I’m sure Goff will still have no emotional issue with beating them, though.

  • He had major success as a quarterback in college

    Jared Goff had several scholarship offers to play football, and he chose the University of California, Berkeley. He became the starting quarterback in the 2013 season. That actually made him the school’s first real freshman quarterback.

  • His fiancée is a Sports Illustrated model

    Jared Goff’s fiancée, Christen Harper, is a Sports Illustrated model. How did they meet? According to People, Harper and Goff started dating in 2019 and met through a dating app. According to the magazine, the app is called Raya, and it’s a private, membership-based dating app for celebrities.

  • His fiancée loves Detroit

    Jared Goff’s fiancée, Christen Harper, truly loves Detroit. She’s been at all the recent Lions games, and she often posts photos of social media in Lions gear. She’s also posted on social media about her love for the Motor City. We love her right back.

  • He gives back

    Last September, for the second consecutive year, Jared Goff and his JG16 brand worked with Merit, a high-quality clothing brand in Detroit that helps students in the community by assisting them in getting to college via the nonprofit organization Give Merit. That’s truly a great cause. So, yes, he gives back.
