Next Big NFL Event is The Draft in Detroit
Of course, the Super Bowl was last night in Las Vegas. The Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers 25 to 22 in overtime. Shout out to our third grade classroom at Disney Elementary School and Miss Phillip. Mean Jean and I visited them to find out who they thought were going to win the game and they picked the Chiefs. So, we were rooting for them because the Lions, unfortunately, were not in Super Bowl this year. So, shout out to them for picking the winning team.
The next big NFL event is the NFL Draft right here in Detroit. On Friday, the NFL released renderings of what the draft stage is gonna look like in April. So many things are gonna be going on. This could be such a good stimulus for our economy. You know what I mean? Lots of jobs, lots of tourism dollars.
The stage is gonna be set up right in Cadillac Square with viewing areas and activities that are gonna spread Campus Martius, down Woodward, towards Hart Plaza. April is hit or miss for us here in Detroit. It might be a little cold still during that time. I’m certain they’ll have warming tents and stuff if that’s the case. But it’s going to be a big deal here for sure. Read more and check out what the stage will look like here… https://lionswire.usatoday.com/2024/02/09/2024-nfl-draft-stage-detroit-info/
Usher Shows Out at Super Bowl Halftime Show
There was a lot of hype over Usher’s Super Bowl halftime performance, and for me, he lived up to it. I’ll be honest, I didn’t really watch any of the game up until the halftime performance. But it was like Finish The Lyrics live in my living room when Usher came out. I was dancing around, singing, I knew all the lyrics. It was awesome.
As far as Super Bowl halftime shows, I think it’s in the top five for me, for sure. And also for me, it’s not just about him. Those dancers showed up and showed out. The band was awesome. Alicia Keys, H.E.R., Luda & Lil Jon, Jermaine Dupri all made appearances. The only thing I will say is that when they were roller skating, I was like, “I know he just didn’t slide through will.i.am’s legs on his roller skates.” Like, you guys are like 50 year old men, now stop. Beyoncé Drops New Music
The other big news from last night was about Queen B. First of all, Beyoncé in a commercial? That’s crazy. She was in an ad for Verizon that showed all these ways she was trying to break the internet.
Then she announced a follow-up to her Renaissance: Act I album. It turns out that it will be a country album called Renaissance: Act II. And she actually dropped two singles from the upcoming project, “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages”. The new album will be out March 29th. And there’s a rumor that Renaissance will be a trilogy and Renaissance: Act III will be a collaboration with her husband, Jay-Z.

Snoop & Dre Dropping a New Drink
Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre have an alcoholic drink they’re putting out called Gin & Juice. There’s no word on what it’s going to hit store shelves, but it will be available in melon, apricot, citrus, and passion fruit flavors.
