Historic Marvin’s Marvelous Mechanical Museum & Arcade Set For Demolition
Despite pleas from residents and the owners of Marvin’s Marvelous Mechanical Museum, it is set to be demolished. They’ve been in Farmington Hills for like 43 years now. The city council there actually voted to allow another development in that area that includes a Meijer to be built. So, it’s a sad day for the business owner because he’s taken a long time to accumulate all this stuff.
If you’re not familiar with Marvin’s, they have a bunch of antique games and like gizmos and pinball and it’s a fun, fun place to go play games. They have said that they’re hoping to move to a new location. They also said that they wanted to keep him around in the development, but no one’s actually made him an offer or anything. He said that he just can’t let this fizzle out. It’s a fun business for people. So, we’ll have to see where they end up. Beyoncé is Becoming The Queen of Country
Congratulations to Beyoncé. She is occupying the first and second position on Apple Music’s Country charts, simultaneously, for her two new singles, “16 Carriages” and “Texas Hold ‘Em”. Those songs are off the Renaissance: Act II album, which is going to be dropping in late March.
I don’t know if you saw this, but a fan emailed a country station in Oklahoma requesting the song and they got the following response, “Hi, we do not play Beyoncé at KYKC – we are a country music station.” A few hours later, they posted an image of their show schedule and it actually showed that they were going to play the song. They said, “Lots of calls coming in for Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em”. It’s coming up in minutes”.
They also replied to a bunch of comments and they tried to explain that local listeners didn’t really want them to play the song. I mean… it’s Oklahoma, you know? They also said that they’re a small market station, so they’re not in the business of breaking new music. They added that they love Beyoncé around there and that they do play her on their other stations. Sounds like the BeyHive swarmed and got them to change their mind after the backlash they received. Bruno Mars Opens Las Vegas Club
I had no idea about this, but Bruno Mars is opening a venue in Las Vegas. It’s called the Pinky Ring. Which makes sense for him. The nightclub is located inside the Bellagio Restaurant and Casino.
They had a huge party over the weekend during Super Bowl. Janelle Monáe was there, Lady Gaga, Victoria Monét, Babyface, T-Pain, Karrueche Tran. A whole bunch of people were there. And I guess Bruno also went on stage with his band and are going to be playing non-stop shows for the next two weeks there. Sounds like a cool spot if you’re in Vegas.
