Detroit is getting ready for the NFL Draft with a new sign that will welcome visitors to the city and NFL themed events at Detroit Parks & Rec centers.
Hollywood-Style Sign Coming on I-94 & Detroit Parks & Rec Events Ahead of NFL Draft
As you may have heard, Detroit is getting a sign ahead of the NFL Draft. It’s going to be like the “Hollywood” sign, but smaller. The letter that spell out “Detroit” will be around 10 feet tall. I think like the Hollywood one is like 40 feet tall or something like that.
They’re going to install it on I-94 East, between Wyoming and Central Avenues, and they say it’ll be installed by early April. So, that’ll be exciting to see.
Also ahead of the Draft, the city’s been doing these On The Clock tours going around to different recreation centers around the city. They bring food trucks, arcade style games, arts and crafts, the Detroit Lions mascot comes out. Plus, they have Lions inflatables and a bunch of football themed stations where you can run the 40-yard dash or kick a field goal, stuff like that. It sounds like a really great time for the kids.
If you’re interested in going, they’re having one this weekend. It’s a free event on Saturday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Heilmann Recreation Center. They are going around to different locations throughout the city up until the NFL Draft. Monica has nothing to hide. She responded to online allegations that she had a butt lift by showing the world her spanx.
Monica Addresses Rumor That She Had Butt Lift
This past weekend a TikTok user posted footage of Monica performing at a concert. The user added the caption, “That BBL done took Monica’s voice away.” She was sporting a green, full length bodysuit with some yams! Her backside was prominent in that video, if you know what I mean. It made me laugh because I read a comment that said her butt cheeks were “sitting higher than Jesus.”
Well, Monica responded. She posted a video where denied getting a Brazilian butt lift and she held up the spanx underwear she was wearing that had butt pads in them. I’m glad she could just admit it, you know what I mean? Here’s the original video and Monica’s response… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rydBkXaKzLg
ASAP Rocky has told fans Rihanna is working on new music. Of course, we’ve been hearing that since 2018.
ASAP Rocky Comments on New Rihanna Music
Rihanna fans will be glad to hear that there may be hope for new music after all. ASAP Rocky was spotted in Paris and a fan asked him to ask Rihanna to release a new album. That’s hilarious to me because it’s like they made him the middle-man. Like, “You mind passing that along to Rihanna?”
Well, ASAP responded that she was working on it. We’ll see. I think we will get new Rihanna music, but it won’t be anything people expect. Here’s the exchange between ASAP Rocky and the fan… https://youtube.com/shorts/La5xfemfQeA?si=xG3hP9z8qDdZDE-G
Rihanna: 7 Of Her Iconic Red Carpet Looks, Ranked
Rihanna is a Grammy-winning artist, mother, and style icon. There’s not a red carpet where Rihanna is not listed as one of the best dressed, if not the best dressed. What Rihanna has done to differentiate herself from her peers is tap into styling, which has gotten her honors to add to her towering music accolades.
Rihanna’s Honors In Fashion
In 2014, Rihanna was honored with the Fashion Icon at the CFDA Fashion Awards. The award show honors stylists, designers, and trendsetters in the fashion world. That same year, she was also named the creative director of PUMA. She later took a step back in 2017 and then returned in 2023 to be the creative director for her Fenty x Puma line.
In 2015, she made history as the first Black woman to become the face of Dior. Fast forward four years later, Rihanna became the first black woman to run a major luxury fashion house with her own, Fenty. In 2021, she closed the venture as she focused on putting more capital into her intimates brand, Savage X Fenty.
In 2022, after having some of the most memorable looks at the Met Gala, it paid tribute to the singer with a digital statue of her placed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The statue accentuated her growing baby bump at the time as she was pregnant with her first son, RZA, with A$AP Rocky. It is also the pose she did for the publication’s May 2022 cover.
“shut down the met in marble! what’s more gilded than that? Lol! Thank you @metmuseum and @voguemagazine for this historic tribute! y’all bad for this one!,” she said on Instagram showing of the digital masterpiece.
The billionaire has meshed her reputation as a style icon and business mindset into one. She started Savage X Fenty in 2018. Since then, it has been a powerhouse for innovating fashion and performance– another trait the singer has used to bring her two worlds together. All four volumes of the production (2020, 2021, 2022, 2023) have been nominated for Outstanding Choreography for Variety or Reality Programming. In 2022, Savage x Fenty Show Vol. 3 won an Emmy for Outstanding Choreography for Variety or Reality Programming and was nominated for Outstanding Production Design for a Variety Special.
Whether it’s business, fashion, or just a date night streetwear look, Rihanna’s reign is never letting up.
Take a look at seven of her most iconic looks below:

For the film premiere of Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets Rihanna was stunning. The Grammy-winning singer wore her signature bright red in a beautiful gown. The off-the-shoulder garment was form-fitting at the top and then flowed into a loose ballgown. She paired the dress with a bright red lipstick subtle smoky eye. Her hair was pulled to the back in a wet/wavy style. While Rihanna was not in the film, she was a star on the red carpet.

For the 59th GRAMMY Awards, Rihanna opted for a two-piece instead of a traditional gown and she pulled it off. The top was an orange lace halter and the bottom was a long black draped velvet ballroom skirt. The style was very Rihanna as it showed off her iconic wing tattoo. She switched up her hair and wore effortless waves in an auburn brown color with reddish highlights. The singer was nominated for nine GRAMMYs including Album of the Year, and Record of the Year.

The two-piece style is never a miss in Rihanna's closet so it's a no-brainer why she chose the style again for the Met Gala in 2014. The theme that year was "Charles James: Beyond Fashion." For her top, the singer wore a white long-sleeved cropped blouse cut on an angle with jewels on the collar. In the same material, the singer opted for a long skirt with minimal ruched detailing. Her hair was in an updo and pulled stylized with waves for an effortless effect.

For the 2015 Met Gala, Rihanna showed that she was not there to play. The theme of that year's Gala was "China: Through The Looking Glass" and from head-to-toe Rihanna not only stayed on theme but was one of the best dressed of the night. She wore a yellow gown with a high slit, jeweled embroidery and fur. She accessorized with a four-tiered gold necklace and diamond studded earrings. The embroidery was made into a headpiece which the singer donned with her iconic short red hair. While her previous year's look stayed more on the safe side but was still effortless, she chose to put her mark down on someone to keep their eyes on for the Met Gala carpet with this look.

If you didn't already suspect it, Rihanna is the Queen of the Met Gala but in 2018 she proved it with a crown inweaved into her show-stopping look. For the 2018 Met Gala, which theme was "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion & The Catholic Imagination," Rihanna head-to-toe embodied a queen. She wore a short bustier topped dress with black and white pearls all-over. The jewels were then copied onto her long coat which had puffed sleeves and a cuffed wrist. What made the look all come together was her take on a Pope's hat which also had the white and black pearls throughout. She accessorized with a matching clutch and black glittery pumps.

The amount of detail in this look is absolutely Rihanna-coded. The theme for the 2017 Met Gala was "Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garcons: Art Of The In-Between." Rihanna looked as though she bloomed from a garden with her pink and blue petaled dress. The dress ever so slightly showed off a part of her midriff and had patterns of pink, blue, and floral throughout. However, her makeup alone could have carried any dress. The over the top pink blush from the apples of her cheeks, into her eyebrows and over her eyelids was a masterpiece in its own. She accessorized the look with with hot pink knee-high strapped sandals, a diamond encrusted watch, and top-knot bun with full bangs.

216,000 was the amount of Swarovski crystals Rihanna wore on her dress in her most iconic look. When you think of a memorable Rihanna fashion moment we have to bring it back to 2014 when she was awarded with the Fashion Icon award at the CFDA Fashion Awards. Rihanna wore a completely sheer dress from that was covered with Swarovski crystals. She cleverly styled it with a white fur shawl, diamond drop earrings, and crystal covered head piece and gloves. This groundbreaking look only adds to her status as an icon.
