Job Fair Hosted On Chicago's Navy Pier

You could find a job you’ll love in Southfield this week where they have several job fairs happening.

Find The Right Job For You This Week in Southfield

It’s Mean Jean filling in for Shannon Rene for today’s Scoop and if you know someone who is looking for a new job, there are multiple job fairs happening in the city of Southfield this week.

Southfield Parks and Rec is having three job fairs this week. One’s on Tuesday, one’s on Thursday, and one is on Saturday. There are over 40 part time and seasonal positions available with multiple different backgrounds and multiple different experience levels. So, if you’ve got kids that are looking for something to do over the summer to make some money, this might be a good opportunity for them.

There’s also another job fair that was supposed to take place in January, but it was canceled due to the weather. Now that’s going to happen this Wednesday at the Southfield Pavilion. 12 companies will be featured. They will have full time, part time and seasonal positions. Some of the companies involved include Community Choice Credit Union and Cornwell Health.

Drake continues to help fans who’ve found themselves in tight spots. Over the weekend he agreed to pay of the mortgage of a fan who recently lost their mother.

Drake Blesses Fan By Paying Their Mortgage

Drake has been on the second leg of his “It’s a Blur” tour with J. Cole, and he’s been feeling really charitable on this tour. People have been bringing signs, letting him know some of the things that they’ve gone through. And Drake has been allegedly paying them money for their thing. I’m not going to lie. I was a little skeptical. Because I’m like, is anybody following up to find out if this money is being distributed?

Well, over the weekend, Drake actually did something really dope at his show. He paid off the mortgage for a fan’s mother who had recently passed away. The balance on the house was $160,000. I would assume that Drake verifies everyone’s story before he cuts the check. And I hope these people are being truthful about what they’re going through and not just bringing these signs try and get some money.

I keep telling you, stop getting your hopes up when it comes to new music from Rihanna. We’ve been waiting for new music from Rihanna for like eight years now. She’s allegedly got an album that she’s been working on for a really long time. A few weeks ago in the Scoop, Shannon Renee talked about how ASAP Rocky was in Paris and people were asking him, where’s the new music? He said that Rihanna’s “working on it”.

Now, she just got paid $6-million over the weekend to perform at a pre-wedding party over in India. And after that, Rihanna and her assistant Melissa went live on Instagram. And anytime Rihanna does anything, the comments are always like, ‘where’s the new music?’ Her response was, “Just relax. Just be cool. One thing at a time.”

I keep telling you to stop getting your hopes up. I will believe that Rihanna’s coming out with new music when the new music is actually out. She’s a billionaire. She doesn’t need to make music. And I feel like if she does come out with a new album, since she’s got so much money and she can do whatever she wants, people are going to be upset with it. Just like they were with that “Lift Me Up” song. It’s like, she was paying tribute to Chadwick Boseman for the Black Panther 2 soundtrack and people still wanted her to be shaking her ass. Rihanna is a Grammy-winning artist, mother, and style icon. There’s not a red carpet where Rihanna is not listed as one of the best dressed, if not the best dressed. What Rihanna has done to differentiate herself from her peers is tap into styling, which has gotten her honors to add to her towering music accolades.

In 2014, Rihanna was honored with the Fashion Icon at the CFDA Fashion Awards. The award show honors stylists, designers, and trendsetters in the fashion world. That same year, she was also named the creative director of PUMA. She later took a step back in 2017 and then returned in 2023 to be the creative director for her Fenty x Puma line.

In 2015, she made history as the first Black woman to become the face of Dior. Fast forward four years later, Rihanna became the first black woman to run a major luxury fashion house with her own, Fenty. In 2021, she closed the venture as she focused on putting more capital into her intimates brand, Savage X Fenty.

In 2022, after having some of the most memorable looks at the Met Gala, it paid tribute to the singer with a digital statue of her placed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The statue accentuated her growing baby bump at the time as she was pregnant with her first son, RZA, with A$AP Rocky. It is also the pose she did for the publication’s May 2022 cover.

The billionaire has meshed her reputation as a style icon and business mindset into one. She started Savage X Fenty in 2018. Since then, it has been a powerhouse for innovating fashion and performance– another trait the singer has used to bring her two worlds together. All four volumes of the production (2020, 2021, 2022, 2023) have been nominated for Outstanding Choreography for Variety or Reality Programming. In 2022, Savage x Fenty Show Vol. 3 won an Emmy for Outstanding Choreography for Variety or Reality Programming and was nominated for Outstanding Production Design for a Variety Special.
