In today’s Shannon’s Scoop, we’re all awaiting the solar eclipse, J. Cole walks back his Kendrick Lamar diss, 50 Cent trolls Diddy on stage at Dreamville concert!
Everyone Anticipating Solar Eclipse

Well, today is the day. It’s total eclipse day where the moon will completely cover the sun. Some schools are letting kids out early for this. It’s funny because I saw someone say ‘this day’s going to cost me money because it’s a half day for the kids!’
Places in the path of totality will see the sky become dark as if it was dawn or dusk. And the people who will only experience a partial solar eclipse, the sky will appear slightly darker than it was. Here in Detroit, the partial eclipse starts about 2:00 PM and the total eclipse happens at 3:14 PM. This is the last one that’s going to be visible in the United States until 2044.
And listen, don’t be stupid. Make sure you have the proper eclipse glasses and that they aren’t knockoffs. I guess that’s the thing. People going around with fake ones. So, you got to make sure that they’re legit. The knockoff eclipse glasses can damage people’s eyes. They say if you look up at the sun on a normal day, you know how you’ll get a little white flash, a bright spot in your vision? Well, it’s possible that if you look at the sun during a total solar eclipse, that the white is much more concentrated and will burn your retinas. So, you can literally go blind if you look at an eclipse without safety glasses on. Be safe out there.
J. Cole Regrets Kendrick Diss
On stage at Dreamville, J. Cole told the crowd he regretted his part in the beef that erupted between himself and Kendrick L:amar.
Last week we talked about the beef between J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar. It all started in October when Drake released “For All The Dogs”. The track “First Person Shooter” had J. Cole on it and he said that him, Drake and Kendrick were the Big 3 of current hip hop.
Then Kendrick responded with on Future’s song “Like That” and said “Motherf— the Big 3, It’s just big me”. Then J. Cole responded last week on his new track “7 Minute Drill”, which Kendrick said was “insubstantial” and “a light pack”. And honestly, everybody was calling J. Cole out. Joe Budden was like, “This is weak”.
Well, J.Cole had his Dreamville show yesterday and from the stage he told the crowd it was the “Lamest, goofiest ish”. Basically, he was apologizing to Kendrick Lamar over the whole beef. I was like, ‘These are grown men’. Come on. At some point you’ve got to stay out of mess like this.
J. Cole went on to say that he’s been attracting really negative things since this has been going on, so I get that. You don’t want to that out there. We’re too old to be doing this, you know what I mean? So he said he might take the song “7 Minute Drill” off of streaming platforms. We’ll have to see if that happens and what Kendrick has to say.
50 Cent Continues Slamming Diddy
50 Cent continues to make Diddy the butt of his jokes, online and on stage.
50 Cent was also at Dreamville and he went after his favorite target, Diddy. At one point during his set he said, “I love you brother, no P. Diddy. I love you…even if you a sex worker.”
That’s his new favorite term, because you know, his ex was involved with Diddy, allegedly, supposedly. I mean, they were involved with each other, I just don’t know on what terms. She and Yung Miami were both named in the lawsuit.
This doesn’t surprise me. 50 is such a troll. It will never end.
Diddy, meanwhile, was out riding his bike around Miami and he posted, like, old Bad Boy videos over the weekend. One was a clip from his song “Victory”, which depicted him evading the police. So, people think he’s like getting away with whatever he’s accused of now.

Listening To These 5 Artists Make You A Safer Driver
Music is one of the most popular ways people make their drive more enjoyable. Depending on the type of music, your driving experience may wildly vary from the next person. Upbeat music can make you want to drive faster, while classical music may make you slower or even sleepy.
Optimally, you would want to select music that isn’t too distracting and will leave you feeling alert and in a good mood. Choosing which genre or artists make you drive better to be the most beneficial in helping your concentration when driving is important.
In a study by Auto Trader, the automotive marketplace company conducted a study of what artists help improve concentration behind the wheel. A group of 17 participants were asked to spot and identify driving hazards in a series of virtual driving scenarios, whilst listening to music artists from a range of popular genres.
The study participants completed a series of hazard perception tests while listening to different playlists from 20 different popular artists that have been regularly streamed or played on the radio in 2024. After taking each hazard perception test while listening to the popular playlists, the participants’ scores were recorded and totaled to discover the average result per musician.
While the majority of study participants passed their hazard perception tests while listening to different artists, there were two artists that severely impacted participants’ abilities to spot and react to hazards in a timely manner. Both classical composer Johann Sebastian Bach and rapper Megan Thee Stallion did not prove to be helpful artists to listen to in the car, with participants scoring an average of 42.5 and 37.5, respectively. For context, you must score at least 44 out of 75 in order to pass.

For optimal driving safety, it is recommended that you listen to music in the car without headphones on and at a low volume. Adjusting the volume while behind the wheel is another distracting factor while driving.
The scores below represent the average score achieved by multiple participants listening to a particular artist during their hazard perception tests; higher scores indicate greater levels of concentration, meaning the participants identified and reacted to hazards quicker when listening to that artist.
