Detroit Nominated For Best Place to See Fireworks
As we mentioned on Shannon’s Scoop this morning, Detroit leads the pack in another Best Places poll.
Detroit has already been named as the city with the Best Riverfront, and now the Ford Fireworks has been nominated by USA Today and its 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards as one of the best places to see the fireworks.
USA Today wrote, “The Ford Fireworks show in Detroit is so big that it takes not one, not two, but a total three barges to hold the pyrotechnics. In addition to the colorful display exploding above the Detroit River, spectators can enjoy live music and plenty of food and drinks.”
As of yesterday, we were ranked 1st out of 20 cities in the running. We can’t lose that spot! So, you need to get over there and keep voting for Detroit. Click here to vote.
This year, the fireworks show is scheduled for 10:00 PM on Monday, June 24th. And it’s always a big deal here around the city. Of course, the key is to find a place that you can clearly see the fireworks, but not be in the mess. Cause those streets get locked with traffic after the show’s over. You can read more below.
