Too Harsh? Dad Punishes Daughter By Shaving Head
Is this dad a hero or a bully himself?
In a post that has since been deleted from the website Reddit, this dad explains that his 16-year-old daughter recently got in trouble for bullying a student with cancer. The dad explained that there was already beef between the two girls, since his daughter is dating the girl’s ex-boyfriend, and during an argument his daughter pulled the girl’s wig off.
“Not how I’ve raised my daughter to treat people and it truly disgusted me to hear how she acted from her deputy principle,” he wrote. “She showed no remorse. She tried to excuse her behavior by saying the girl in question deserved it. Again, I don’t care what she said, that behavior is inexcusable.”
As a punishment, the dad gave his daughter two options, either get rid of all her electronics, and never buy her any again, or the girl could shave her head, noting, “as bald as the hairdresser could do.” Plus, there would be no wig allowed and would have to deal with it until her hair grew back.
Naturally, wanting to hold on to her phone, the daughter chose to get her head shaved, and some people, including the girl’s mother (who doesn’t have custody of the child) thought the dad went to an extreme, but he disagrees.
What do you think? Did he make the right call?
