NFL’s Richard Sherman Arrested On Domestic Violence Charge
NFL cornerback Richard Sherman, 33, was arrested Wednesday and was charged with burglary and domestic violence Washington state jail records say per NBC.
Records state that the 33-year-old was booked at the King County Correctional Facility at about 6 a.m. and was denied bail.
The Redmond Police Department said in a statement per NBC that officers were called to a house at 1:46 a.m. for a report of a burglary in progress.
According to TMZ, “officers showed up to a residence in the Redmond area after receiving a call from the occupants inside the home who claimed a family member who did not live there was trying to break in.”
The police then attempted to arrest the San Francisco 49ers player, but he fought them. The officers then used help from the K9 unit to arrest the athlete, reported TMZ.
Cops say, per TMZ, that he was taken to the hospital to be looked at for possible injuries before he was eventually booked at the county jail.
As of now, Sherman remains behind bars and the investigation is ongoing.
